Who We Are

LOXLEY ON BELLBIRD HILL

Loxley offers first class weddings and special events packages and tailor made conferences with optional extras being made available including accommodation, garden ceremonies, tours, in-house massage, conference facilities with team building activities, such as murder mystery nights and organised tours & activities. Loxley holds the competitive advantage of being “different” and thereby generates awareness, curiosity and interest from people who visit the property.

Additionally, when an organization books Loxley for an executive retreat they will have the property exclusively to themselves, which provides greater benefits to the group to enhance relationship building between participants. The philosophy behind developing Loxley on Bellbird Hill was to provide guests with an opportunity to celebrate special events at an establishment that offered historic significance, a rural belonging, a cosmopolitan flavour and an old fashioned feeling of comfort. Loxley is successfully meeting its mission and achieving customer satisfaction.

Saluting Heritage and Environment

HOW WE STARTED

Paul Maher a descendant of the First Fleet, Lady Penryn 1788 (Jane Langley), says that it is imperative that we continue to acknowledge the pioneers and respect the environment of this great country. It is a privilege to own a piece of Australia’s history. Loxley dates back to 1833 when Governor Sir Thomas Brisbane first granted 50 acres to William Townsend to the value of 75 pounds. This was the beginning of an amazing journey of ownership of this unique property. On the 9th of June 1859 Loxley was purchased by Sir Charles Moore who paid 310 pounds. He was brought out from Scotland to take up the Directorship of the Botanical Gardens in Sydney. Many of the mature trees and plants found in the rainforest at Loxley today, including our magnificent Kauri tree, originated from Moore’s era.

Perfect Venue

FOR ALL OCCASIONS

In this millennium the philosophy behind developing Loxley on Bellbird Hill is to provide guests with an opportunity to celebrate special events at an establishment that offers historical significance, a pristine environment, a rural belonging, a cosmopolitan flavor, and an old-fashioned feeling of comfort. Situated at the gateway of the Blue Mountains overlooking the magnificent views of the whole Sydney basin, Loxley is situated 1 hour from Sydney CBD and, 40 minutes from Parramatta, 30 minutes from Castle Hill, and 20 minutes from Penrith.

Since Paul Maher has taken ownership of Loxley he has continued to develop the establishment into a multi-award-winning venue with the model being saluting heritage and respecting the environment. It is a thrill to share our venue celebrating weddings, conferencing, and romantic escapes’.
